Overview
The Workplace Chat desktop app for Windows and Mac lets you chat with your coworkers. It’s an alternative to chatting with coworkers on Workplace in a desktop browser.
To download the Workplace Chat app for your computer, first make sure you're logged into Workplace on the browser you're using. Then, click one of the links below depending on your operating system:
If you're logged into Workplace on the browser you're using and you're still having problems downloading Workplace Chat, then you may need to update your operating system.
Note: Workplace Chat doesn't require admin access, so anyone should be able to install the app – unless it's been blocked by a system administrator.
Deploy the Workplace Chat MSI for your organization
If you’re a system admin looking to install the Workplace Chat app for all the users in your organization, you can deploy the app via Windows installer (or .msi
package)
Supported Versions
We only support the latest 3 versions of the desktop app, or all app versions less than 6 months old – whichever is higher. This is so we can maintain a high bar of quality and ensure our customers have access to the latest bug fixes and improvements.
Once an older version of the app is no longer supported, users will be logged out of the app and prompted to install the latest version from the links above. After installing a supported version of the app, they can continue to use it as before.
N.B: As of 29 November 2023, all versions of the Work Chat Desktop app below v171.0.0.35.105 are no longer supported.
